What is Kohl Ithmid? Kohl Ithmid is a traditional mineral powder made from naturally occurring stibnite — a form of antimony sulfide — that has been used for centuries across Arabia, Africa, and South Asia. It carries deep cultural and historical significance and is mentioned in the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. What makes Golden Oasis different? Does your kohl contain lead? Our kohl has been independently tested using ICP-AES methodology by an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory. Lead was not detected at or above the instrument's detection limit of 0.1 ppm — well within international cosmetic safety standards. Full lab documentation is available on our Certifications page.

What does ND mean on your lab report? ND stands for Not Detected. It means the element was tested for and was not found at or above the instrument's detection limit of 0.1 ppm. It does not mean the test was skipped — it means the test was performed and nothing was found above the measurable threshold.

Why does antimony show ND if ithmid is antimony-based? Ithmid is made from stibnite — antimony sulfide (Sb₂S₃). The antimony is chemically bonded within the mineral compound in its sulfide form. ICP testing measures free ionized elements in solution. Because the antimony in stibnite remains bound during testing, it registers below the detection limit. This is completely normal and expected for authentic stibnite-based ithmid and does not mean antimony is absent from the stone.

Is Golden Oasis Kohl safe to use? Our kohl is independently tested by an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory against GSO 1943:2024 international cosmetic safety standards. Is this safe for children? We recommend this product for adults only. Keep out of reach of children under 12.

Is this safe during pregnancy? We recommend consulting your healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

How do I apply Kohl? Apply using the included brass applicator for traditional precision. For a gentler option, each glass bottle also features a built-in glass applicator inside the cap. Always ensure hands are clean before application. Apply along the waterline horizontally. Clean the applicator after each use and store in a dry place.

How long does one bottle last? Each bottle contains 10g of kohl. With regular use, one bottle typically lasts 2–3 months depending on application frequency.

Can I return my order? All sales are final once shipped. If your order arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 7 days of confirmed delivery with photo proof and your order number at support@goldenoasis.store and we will make it right.

Is Kohl Ithmid Sunnah? Yes. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ specifically recommended ithmid by name, saying "The best of your kohl is Ithmid — it brightens the vision and makes the eyelashes grow" (Sunan an-Nasa'i 5113). He practiced this regularly and it is established as a recommended Sunnah for both men and women.
